How we compare
Most districts manage PSAT/SAT registration with spreadsheets, Google Forms, or a platform built in 2007. Here's what's different about TestDay.
How most districts handle this today
Sign-ups collected via paper forms or Google Forms with no payment integration. Coordinators manage rosters in spreadsheets every cycle.
Fee collection handled at the front office by check or cash. Socioeconomically disadvantaged pricing tracked manually and prone to errors.
Reminders sent by hand. Accommodations in a separate spreadsheet. Post-test surveys rarely happen. Test-day room assignments on a printed flyer.
Feature comparison
TestDay vs. Total Registration vs. Google Forms
Registration
Forms
Total Registration offers AP, PSAT/NMSQT, and IB registration. Feature comparison is limited to PSAT/SAT registration workflows.
What Total Registration doesn't do
TR has been running since 2007. These gaps aren't bugs. The product just wasn't built for how districts work today.
Students and parents authenticate with their existing school Google account. No new passwords to forget, no support tickets for your IT team.
Direct sync with Aeries pulls current enrollment automatically. No re-entering student data each testing cycle.
Configure testing accommodations per student. They appear on each student's registration card automatically. No separate spreadsheet to maintain.
Invitation, registration, test-day logistics, and post-test survey in one platform. Coordinators don't need to stitch together three different tools.
Student data is used only to operate the platform for your district, never shared with third parties. Data Processing Agreements available.
Pricing
Why flat annual pricing? Per-exam billing (Total Registration's model) can't be budgeted in advance — you don't know the registration count until the window closes. A flat annual fee is easy to line-item and straightforward for purchasing to approve.
The annual fee covers the registration platform: sign-up portal, payment processing, reminders, test-day logistics, and post-test survey. Setup and configuration are included.
Districts set their own exam fees and pricing tiers, including waivers for socioeconomically disadvantaged students. Stripe collects fees directly to your bank account. College Board fees are separate.
Pricing is based on high school enrollment (grades 9–12). Flexible for early district partners. All tiers include setup and configuration.
